BIOS Setup
Some consoles require a BIOS file to run. Place the BIOS files directly in the console's system folder — for example, sdmc:/tico/system/psx/. PlayStation (PSX) Folder: sdmc:/tico/system/psx/ One of the following: scph5501.bin (recommended, USA) scph5502.bin (Europe) scph5500.bin (Japan) scph1001.bin Dreamcast Folder: sdmc:/tico/system/dc/ dc_boot.bin (required) Sega Saturn Folder: sdmc:/tico/system/saturn/ One of the following: saturn_bios.bin sega_101.bin mpr-17933.bin Sega CD Folder: sdmc:/tico/system/sega-cd/ One of the following depending on your region: bios_CD_U.bin (USA) bios_CD_E.bin (Europe) bios_CD_J.bin (Japan) Notes BIOS files must be placed directly in the console's system folder — do not create subfolders inside it. BIOS files are not provided by tico. You must obtain them from hardware you legally own. Consoles not listed here do not require a BIOS file. BIOS files are copyrighted by their respective manufacturers. tico does not distribute BIOS files and does not support obtaining them from unauthorized sources. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to use any BIOS files you provide. By using tico, you agree to our License and Terms of Use.
Supported ROM Formats
tico supports the following ROM formats for each console. Make sure your files use one of the listed extensions and are placed directly in the console's root folder — for example, sdmc:/tico/roms/psx/. Nintendo Entertainment System Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/nes/ .nes .unf/.unif .fds (Famicom Disk System) Super Nintendo Entertainment System Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/snes/ .sfc/.smc .bml Game Boy Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/gb/ .gb Game Boy Color Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/gbc/ .gbc Game Boy Advance Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/gba/ .gba Sega Master System Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/master-system/ .sms Sega Game Gear Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/game-gear/ .gg Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/genesis/ .md/.gen/ .bin .smd Sega Saturn Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/saturn/ .cue + .bin (cuesheet + raw tracks) .iso PlayStation (PSX) Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/psx/ .chd (recommended) .cue + .bin (cuesheet + raw tracks) .iso PlayStation Portable (PSP) Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/psp/ .iso .cso (compressed ISO) .pbp .chd Dreamcast Folder: sdmc:/tico/roms/dc/ .chd (recommended) .cdi .gdi + associated track files .cue + .bin (cuesheet + raw tracks) Notes ROMs must be placed directly in the console's root folder — do not create subfolders inside it. Compressed archives (.zip, .7z) are not supported — ROMs must be uncompressed. For multi-file formats (.cue/.bin, .gdi), all associated files must be placed in the same folder. .chd is recommended for disc-based consoles — it reduces file size and keeps everything in a single file.
