tico brings Sega Saturn to Nintendo Switch
Seven years ago, the Nintendo Switch was first hacked open. Since then, the homebrew scene has brought us emulators for dozens of systems — but the Sega Saturn always stayed out of reach. Too complex, too quirky, too demanding. For years, any attempt to run Saturn games on Switch meant dealing with overclocking, cotton fixes, and a compatibility list full of asterisks and broken games.
That changes now.
Tico is releasing the first nearly 100% functional Sega Saturn emulator for Nintendo Switch — no overclock, no workarounds, pure hardware emulation. And when I say functional, I mean it. We're talking about the full library:Panzer Dragoon Saga,Guardian Heroes,Nights into Dreams,Virtua Fighter 2,Radiant Silvergun,Burning Rangers— games that have been notoriously painful to emulate even on high-end PCs — all running on a handheld you can take anywhere.
On top of compatibility, the emulator brings HD resolution support, so your Saturn games look better than they ever did on a CRT back in the day. There's also full3D pad support, meaning games built around Saturn's analog 3D controller work exactly the way they were designed to.
